Gastón Rial Saibene is a uruguayan (ítalo-uruguayo) telematic engineer, specialized in communication systems, who studied at Universidad de Montevideo, Uruguay. During his studies, he had a great interest in machine learning and cybersecurity, which led to a joint effort with CERTuy to improve the detection of Advance Persisten Threat actors for government websites. The work, which is summarized in Memoria de Investigaciones en Ingenieria Nr.18, was awarded by the National Academy of Engineering of Uruguay in the category of computing.

Gastón moved to Warsaw (Poland) in 2020, shortly after the COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) global pandemic began, to work for Google. Firstly, he took the role of Technical Solutions Engineer (TSE) for Google Cloud, but later he switched to Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) in ProdSec (Security and Privacy). Being the first SRE in Poland, he worked to build the site from scratch, onboard new engineers and fostered the SRE principles.

Due to personal reasons, in 2022, he decided to leave Warsaw and continue his work of improving the performance and reliability of software systems in Copenhagen, Denmark. Currently, Gastón is leading the SRE transformation at Boozt.com.
